Can $126 Million dollars a year be wrong? The military boot camp system is longstanding and still going as strong as ever today, and our program is no different. For over a century parents have looked to boarding schools as a method to fix their broken children of any woe. Some parents send kids in for drug abuse, behavior problems or severe medical problems, and concentration camping is really just a subtle mix of the three. Of course, when it comes to children admitted for modest drug experimentation, they often come out as rampant drug abusers, but that’s more of a parental failure, and we warn of this problem up front. To our credit, however, we have fewer than average instances of counselors providing drugs to children in exchange for sexual favors than several 501-c3 organizations, including FLDS and the Boston Archdioces (with whom we’ve had more than our fair share of run-ins).
What About Drug Abuse?
Sure, parents like to medicate their children rather than teach them the actual lessons they need to know. Why not, it’s easy as pie, except easier because it’s just a handing over of awesome drugs with simple instructions, and right there it’s a done deal on the highway to high heaven, if you catch my meaning. This is no indictment against parents, we assume you people do your best, based on the advice of doctors, especially when they don’t realize that an option like ours exists, and has a proven track record. You don’t understand the depth of the mistakes you make, and you may be forgiven for it if your ends are justified by your means… do you have the means to send your child through unto these right ends?
But Can Behavior Problems Be Fixed?
It’s easy to look at behavioral problems and think that it may be the result of a dead mother or father, a lifetime of unimaginably explicit sexual abuse or an unwillingness on the part of the parent (foster, step or factual) to actually deal with the child, but all of these behavioral problems really boil down to concentration. That’s where we can help. If there’s one thing we focus on, and there is, it’s helping your child learn to concentrate, and that’s what we do. Nothing is more important than concentration, according to us, and don’t you be swayed by the fact that you’re reading this and it’s the very exact thing we do all day, because that’s true, but you don’t need to worry about that.
Severe Medical Problems?
If your child has severe medical problems, we can help cure them. We are not faith healers, but historically, many of the problems children liked to consider “severe” and “medical” were overcome by telling them to snap out of it and get a hold of themselves. If your child needs to come down to reality, there is no place with a more harsh wakeup call than our own camp. If your child actually requires intense, concerted medical care, however, we are not equipped to assist you. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and your family.
Treatment & Care vs. Jail
Why any parent would be so thoughtless as to send a troubled child to a program intended for criminals, we will never understand. That environment won’t modify behavior through self-understanding, and it won’t even scare kids straight.
Many times parents want a “quick fix” for their troubled youngster. It’s taken their whole life to become a sullen, belligerent, hostile dick of a child, and you can’t fix it overnight. Focusing on a long-term plan in which the intervention is therapeutic and emphasizes behavioral change through the acceptance of personal responsibility will improve the outlook for your child.
